Position: Marketing Manager
Reports to:
Vice President, Sales & Marketing


Job Description:

The Marketing Manager is responsible for designing and implementing company and client marketing campaigns, from assisting in defining creative strategy, through to development of marketing literature for traditional and web-based marketing programs.

The Marketing Manager will also provide design and implementation guidance to the Emforium Web Team as we continue to grow our online presence as well as monitor effectiveness of web-based marketing strategies. This is a full time permanent position and is based at Emforium's corporate offices in Waterloo, Ontario.

Responsibilities include:

  • Identify, develop, and implement marketing creative strategies and programs that best represent Emforium's value proposition into the marketplace
  • Identify, develop and implement marketing creative strategies and programs for selected Emforium clients
  • Work very closely with Product Manager in support of overall product objectives
  • Generate marketing collaterals such as slides decks, brochures, case studies, and flash demos in conjunction with internal designers
  • Provide design guidance to the Emforium Web Team as we build our online presence

Qualifications:

  • Strong written and verbal communications skills, from writing collateral and web copy to presentations that deliver business concepts and moderately technical concepts to a diverse audience-base
  • Strong presentation skills, both verbal and written, including writing product and web copy
  • In-depth knowledge of marketing principles and practices
  • Excellent time management, interpersonal, communications, decision-making, and organization skills
  • A high energy level that demonstrates a consistently upbeat and infectiously enthusiastic attitude
  • A "roll up the sleeves" attitude; a self starting orientation with the intense drive to "make things happen;" must be a "doer"
  • Creative and a decisive professional who knows how to balance tactical and strategic issues
  • Team-oriented: candidate must enjoy collaborating with a team and be able to both lead and participate in projects

Education Required:

  • Bachelor degree; advanced degree in business or marketing desirable

Experience Required:

  • Minimum of 5 years of marketing creative experience, preferably in high technology and/or retail
  • Experience with managing end-to-end marketing campaigns from creative concepts, through to collateral development, events/programs through to measurement of campaign effectiveness
  • Experience with online marketing tools, such as Google Adwords, Analytics and Yahoo Sponsored search would be a definite asset
  • Understanding of the Software-As-A-Service model
  • Familiarity with CRM systems such as SugarCRM or equivalent
  • Familiarity with web-based applications and MS Office

Work Environment:

General office environment. Limited travel to trade shows, and other company functions required (10%).

Position: Copywriter


Job Description:

The Copywriter can develop enticing copy and simplify technical messaging into action-oriented language.

Responsibilities include:

  • Writing and editing of copy for the corporate Web site, as well as the development of marketing collateral-including direct mailers, customer success stories, and conference materials, such as signage, programs, booth advertisements, and more.
  • Participates in the development of marketing strategy and key messaging statements
  • Works independently, manages multiple projects, prioritizes tasks, and makes decisions under tight deadlines
  • Ensures that deliverables are completed on time and in line with the Emforium corporate message and strategy
  • Produces clear, quality writing with minimal errors, within established deadlines
  • Reviews documentation written by other team members to ensure clarity, accuracy, and quality
  • Provides proofing and writing support on an as-needed basis
  • Follows Emforium's writing standards and best practices

Qualifications:

  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple copywriting projects simultaneously
  • Possesses excellent organizational abilities
  • Works well independently with little supervision
  • Prioritizes tasks, ensuring that departmental and corporate objectives are met. Adjusts priorities quickly in response to changing corporate/departmental goals
  • Adheres to set schedules and ensures product requirements and release deadlines are met
  • Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills, communicates and reports in a clear fashion.
  • Demonstrates business ethics. Develops and maintains professional relationships with co-workers, printers and service bureaus

Education Required:

  • A university degree or college diploma in English - Writing, Journalism, Marketing, Communications, or the equivalent writing experience

Experience Required:

  • 3-5 years work experience writing for a variety of purposes-including advertisements, campaign materials, Web site copy, customer stories, conference materials, brochures, and more
  • Excellent writing, researching, and organizational skills
  • Knowledge of marketing principles
  • Knowledge of HTML and Web content management software is an asset
  • Experience in a marketing environment

Position: Technical Writer


Job Description:

Reporting to the Product Manager, this position involves writing user documentation for Emforium's ALL-IN Software product offerings.

Responsibilities include:

  • Writing and maintaining user manuals: working with software engineers, technical support and the sales team, to gain product knowledge and write user manuals, knowledge base articles and other technical documents for ALL-IN Software.
  • Writing articles on focused topics, including in-depth case studies, white papers, customer deployment scenarios and best practice documents
  • Fulfilling documentation requests from clients and colleagues
  • Other technical writing and publishing activities, to be determined by Product Manager

Qualifications:

  • Motivated and energetic individual who can learn quickly and communicate effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Enjoys working as a member of a team in a development environment and talking with many subject matter experts about technical issues, and translating those details into focused user manuals.

Educational Requirements:

  • A Post-secondary education with a preference for people with Computer Science or Information Technology credentials, English, Journalism, or a related field of knowledge

Experience Required:

  • 5+ years experience as a technical writer or experience in a high-tech environment in a QA, technical support, or engineering role combined with demonstrated excellent writing skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience in fast-paced environments, with focus in meeting tight deadlines
  • Self-motivated and attentive to detail
  • Retail experience an asset
